The Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal has Medical Discussion Papers on a variety of topics. These Papers are gradually being posted on the WSIAT Web Site as they are updated and translated into both French and English.
The Tribunal commissions Medical Discussion Papers to provide general information on medical issues. Each Paper is written by a recognised expert in the field selected by the Tribunal, and each expert is asked to present a balanced view of the current medical knowledge on the topic. Written for the benefit of parties and lay adjudicators in Tribunal appeals, the Medical Discussion Papers are not peer reviewed.
Medical Discussion papers do not necessarily represent the views of the Appeals Tribunal or any particular Vice-Chair or Panel.
