Searching for the Weekly Summaries
Each week, a set of decisions is keyworded by the Tribunal. Some of these keyworded decisions are also summarized. It is now possible to search for decisions that have been keyworded and summarized on a certain week.
To do this search, you need to use a specific code and enter it in the References box. This code is written in a format which will enable you to identify the week and the year in which decisions were keyworded and summarized.
For example, for decisions keyworded during the week ending January 4, 2002, the code would be as follows:

If a decision was also summarized during the week, the code would have an additional "s" attached to it. Therefore, citing the example above the code for all decisions keyworded and summarized during the week ending January 4, 2002 would be w0102s. The additional "s" signifies that a decision has also been summarized.
If a decision was not summarized during the week, the code would have an additional "n" attached to it. Therefore, citing the example above the code for all decisions keyworded but not summarized during the week ending January 4, 2002 would be w0102n. The additional "n" signifies that a decision has not been summarized.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
To cite another example, let us assume that you want to find decisions keyworded and summarized during the week ending July 26, 2002. This is week 30 of the year 2002, therefore, the code to be used for searching for these decisions would be w3002.
---> To display all decisions keyworded, regardless of whether these were summarized or not during the week, do the following:
- Enter w3002 in the References box. (If the title References is not visible, click on the dropdown box and click on that title; if you have just opened the Decision Summary Search page, the dropdown box defaults to the title References.)
- Using the dropdown box beside the References box, choose the option All words (including partial).
- Click on the Search button to start your search.
---> To display only decisions keyworded and summarized during the week, do the following:
- Enter w3002s in the References box.
- Using the dropdown box beside the References box, choose the option All words (including partial).
- Click on the Search button to start your search.
---> To display only decisions keyworded but not summarized during the week, do the following:
- Enter w3002n in the References box.
- Using the dropdown box beside the References box, choose the option All words (including partial).
- Click on the Search button to start your search.
Please note:
- The week ending July 13, 2001 [code: w2801] is the first week for which a set of decisions can be identified as having been keyworded and summarized on a certain week. Prior to this date, there is no code to identify which week a Tribunal decision was summarized and keyworded.
- During the week ending the dates listed below, no summaries were keyworded and summarized, therefore, a search for its corresponding code will yield no results:
July 20, 2002 [code: w2901]
August 2, 2002 [code: w3102]
August 9, 2002 [code: w3202]
